Preserved Tenderness

Softness held past its breaking point

Preserved Tenderness explores the tension between comfort and corrosion. A familiar childhood form that is soft and rounded suspended beneath layers of epoxy sealing time yet actively dissolving. The surface appears smooth and pristine, but upon closer inspection, distortion, pooling and slow collapse are revealed.

This piece reflects how innocence is often not lost suddenly, but preserved too long. Encased by expectation, memory or nostalgia until it begins to deform under its own weight. The epoxy functions as both a protector and suffocator, freezing the moment while quietly accelerating its undoing.

Minimal in palette yet heavy in implication, Preserved Tenderness invites the viewer to question what we choose to keep untouched and what that preservation costs.
